Stagville Plantation Durham, NC Dec. 10, 2007
Visited this location during the holiday season. There was an event being held displaying how the slaves would put on Christmas shows . This was a way of showing how blessed they were for all that the plantaion provided. We walked the grounds and looked at all the arts and crafts that folks were selling. Then we went into the slave quarters where many had given birth . This was known as the labor house as well. I was walking around taking pictures and asked the guide about the slaves that once lived here. Then I when out the front of the building to see the re-enactors getting ready for the event.
At the time, I had my digital recorder rolling to see if anything could be caught. When I later reviewed the data, I was amazed to find that I had captured a great evp. Someone was breathing very loud into the recorder. 5 loud breathes. I feel that it may have been someone going thru a very difficult birth. By the sounds of the evp, they may have past away during this time. I also feel that this could be a possible time warp or residual type of haunting. This is one of the loudest evp's I have caught to date.
Many local paranormal groups have investigated the plantation and have gathered excellent evidence. We would like to revisit this great location for further investigations and see what we can find.
The Green Park Inn Blowing Rock, NC Nov.21,2008
This historic Inn has been a well known haunted location for years. Built in 1882, on the same property where one of Gen. Stoneman's civil war forts once stood.
THHS has been on several investigations to this great Inn. While staying there for the weekend, we met and interviewed some of the staff. They were more then willing to share all their tales of activites that had been going on there for many years.
We researched the entire property for two days. Had many strange experiences that could not be debunked. Knocking on doors , black mists, apparition photos and many great evp's. This location has so much activity. All should visit the Green Park Inn.
THHS has returned three more times this year because of all our great findings. This Inn is like our own little Stanley Hotel in the mountains of North Carolina.
Lake Lure Inn NC Feb.27,2009
THHS went to the Lake Lure Inn to work with Joe Wright of Paranormal Scene Investigators( PSI) Barry Fitzgerald of Ghost Hunters International (GHI) Keith Age of Louisville Ghost Hunters Society ( LGHS)and Mike Gehri and Chad Austin of Ghost Finders US (GFUS). They were all invitied to speak at the PSI CON Conference that weekend. We spent two evenings investigating the Inn and the surrounding properties. We used some of our equipment (K2, EMF, Digital Therometer, DVR-Cam, and Digital Recorders). At the time, we did not feel that there was much activity in the Inn, but enjoyed working with all the awsome guests anyway. Had great time meeting folks from other states and from across the pond.
Several days later while reviewing all of the evidence taken from the Lake Lure Inn, I realized we had captured an apparition photo down in the main lobby. It was of a man leaning against a piece of furniture. His pants and shoes were as clear as day. Three photos were taken in a row. The first two were just of lobby, and third had the man leaning with his legs crossed. While reviewing further, I realized I caught an EVP that was captured at the same time as the photo. It was of the apparition whistling at us and then saying "Hey". We had walked right into this section only seconds later not realizing the spirit was right beside us. This was an amazing dual capture, to say the least.
Also, in Room 218 which is famous for having a screaming lady. THHS caught a loud high pitched yell. Anne, John and myself caught the same evp on 3 different recorders and a video camera while 6 other people in the room caught and/or heard nothing. This was an amazing capture. We now know that there is real paranormal activity at the Lake Lure Inn for sure.
USS North Carolina Battleship Jan.16, 2010
THHS had a join investigation with Ghost Finders US and NC HAGS aboard the USS NC Battleship. During the overnight investigation, many heard voices and odd sounds throughout evening. Some heard a voice telling them to " Get Out" while entering the medical area. Evp's were also captured during the visit. The ship is rich in history and past events from WWII.
The Bullpen, Shower area, Brigg, Galley and Medical areas were very active at times. THHS has a ITC device called The Paranormal Puck that has 9 different emf detectors that can read high energy levels and convert into audio speech. The Puck had some interesting hits while set up in the bullpen that night.
